Australia wide

Australian Government Department of Social Services – Reconnect services
This program helps young people improve family relationships and re-engage with work, education and the community. Reconnect services offer counselling, group work, mediation and practical support to the whole family.

Family Relationships Online – For teenagers
This Australian government-funded online service gives all families access to information about family relationship issues and helps families find out about services that can help them with those issues. This page is for teenagers and young people and has information and advice about issues like getting along with parents and managing conflict.

Kids Helpline – Teens 
This is a free counselling service for teenagers and young people. You can talk to a specialist youth counsellor about relationships, or anything else that’s worrying you, by email, webchat or phone 1800 551 800, 24 hours, 7 days.

Reach Out – Friends and family
This webpage has links and resources related to a range of relationships, including family relationships, stepfamilies, adoption and friendships. 

Reach Out – Parents coaching
Reach Out offers free online coaching to parents and carers of teenagers. If you’re worried about your relationship with your teenage child, or worried about your child’s wellbeing or behaviour, coaching can give you strategies to help.  

Relationships Australia 
This organisation provides resources for couples, individuals and families to help enhance and support relationships.

The Line
This program is aimed at promoting respectful relationships, and helping teenagers and young adults through difficult times in relationships. 

Australian Capital Territory

Relationships Australia – Canberra and region
Relationships Australia offers counselling, education programs, mediation services and other help for individuals and families. 

Richmond Fellowship ACT
This organisation offers youth and family counselling. It also has facilities and services for young people experiencing social and behavioural challenges.

New South Wales

Interrelate
This organisation offers counselling and mediation services in New South Wales. It also runs education programs to help children and parents communicate.

NSW Family Referral Service
This referral service connects families and young people with a range of supports throughout New South Wales. Use the website to contact your nearest service.

Northern Territory

Relationships Australia offers counselling, education programs, mediation services and other help for individuals and families.

This program aims to strengthen family groups and encourage healthy relationships.

Uniting Communities – Family and relationship counselling
This agency provides mediation and counselling for young people and their families to help resolve conflicts and improve relationships. The service also works to enhance young people’s engagement with education, training, work and the community.

Victoria 

Bursting the Bubble
This website has information specifically for teenagers on identifying and preventing violence and abuse in relationships and families. 

Child and Family Information, Referral and Support Teams (Child FIRST) 
Child FIRST is a central referral point that connects young people and their families with a range of community-based family services and other supports. On this webpage you can find the contact number for your nearest Child FIRST team.

Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria
This website has information to help people who have experienced family violence. 

Drummond Street Services
Drummond Street offers a range of counselling and other family support services, with a particular focus on the needs of children and teenagers.

Relationships Australia offers counselling, education programs, mediation services and other help for individuals and families. 

Western Australia

Family helpline
This helpline is provided by the WA Department for Child Protection and Family Support. Families needing help with relationships can get confidential counselling and information, 24 hours, 7 days – phone (08) 9223 1100 or 1800 643 000 (for regional callers). 

Holyoake WA – Drumbeat 
This program explores relationship issues like peer pressure and bullying, and helps young people deal with emotions, identity and social responsibility. It aims to engage young people who resist ‘talk-based’ therapies.
