In this video a behavioural psychologist talks about ways of helping children and teenagers with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) learn social skills, with a particular focus on using Social Stories™ and relaxation training:

  • Social Stories™ is a technique that uses words and pictures to help children get ready for challenging situations.
  • Relaxation training like breathing exercises, muscle relaxation and imagery can help children manage anxiety related to social situations.
